Everyday, we can find ourselves in situations where things dont
work out as we
had wanted, expected, or looked forward to. This can make us feel
disappointed.
Sometimes, when things dont go our way, we can shrug off our
disappointment and
easily move on. Other times, it can be incredibly difficult to do
so. We can be
swept away by intense emotions of sadness, frustration and even
anger that can
swirl within us for hours.
When we are overwhelmed by our emotions it is hard for us to think
clearly.
Understanding what caused our disappointment helps us to stay calm.
When we stay calm it is easier to work out compromises, when
possible,
and to accept situations and move on when things cant be changed.
